Holiday School
Every holiday, parents up and down the land wonder how to occupy their children’s time over the seemingly never ending school holidays. Whist all parents enjoy the chance to spend quality time with their children, the demands of everyday life, and particularly the demands of a busy and demanding career, mean it is not always possible to spend much, if any, of the holiday time with their children.
Here at Regent Learning we can offer a solution to this perennial problem in form of our Holiday School. Our Holiday School which runs every major and half term school holiday means you can continue your daily life without the worries of child-care arrangements, secure in the knowledge that your child is using their time constructively.
This is available Monday to Friday from 08:45-15:30 for children from the ages of 3 to 16, meaning parents can enrol their children for full or half days. Whilst the large percentage of the time is spent in academic endeavour, both consolidating and developing work that is done in school, we also try to introduce new skills and concepts to the children and include arts and crafts, team games and drama activities into our programmes, which not only broaden a child’s skills’ base, but also help develop vital social skills such as communication, public speaking and teamwork, whilst simultaneously developing their imagination, creativity, self-belief and confidence.
As we are aware of the restrictions that working full time can mean in relation to organising children’s activities during the holiday, we offer a Late Club after the Holiday School has finished, allowing children to remain on-site until the end of the working day facilitating the collection of children at a convenient time. Children who remain in the Late Club will spend the remainder of their day in leisure activities.
Holiday School for International Students
We are also offering a Holiday School for International students. This runs in conjunction with and alongside our standard Holiday School with a mixed degree of integration. Children of ages 3-16 are welcome and are asked to send a sample of work before starting in the Holiday School so that we might make a judgement on their ability levels and group them accordingly.
This programme is particularly in demand with students from European countries where fluency in English is a valuable skill given the dominance of the language within Europe. It is also a popular programme for children from former British colonies where the English language and a British education are still held in high regard. Students will undergo the same mixture of academics and fun activities as the standard Holiday School but with greater emphasis on English.
