Excellence in English

The Excellence in English programme is an intensive and comprehensive programme that is available to students in Year 7 upwards. It is a programme and is designed to addresses the specific difficulties of teaching English and is structured to deliver success and confidence and combat under-achievement at school.

English is one of the most important subjects studied at school. Weakness in English undermines achievement in other subjects and can have a detrimental effect on one’s job prospects and career success further down the line. Therefore, it is essential that students can communicate, both in written and verbal form, in an effective and proficient manner.

The programme focuses on grammar, writing skills and comprehension and this is suitable for each and every student. It’s also a particularly good programme for those international students for whom English is not their mother tongue and who need help to reach a standard of English which is satisfactory in both daily and academic life.
