We use a range of books at Regent Learning aimed at children from the age of three up to eleven which are designed to be an integral part of your child’s studies, enhancing and enriching their learning.

These books can be used as part of your child’s tuition to ensure that they learn from a diverse and broad range of resources which cover all aspects of their learning in the subject or can be used as extra study at home, or as in most cases, a combination of the two.

The Achievers Series

The Achievers Series is a series of interlinking books designed by the Head of Regent Learning, Ms Emmeline Gordon Reid, and is designed for children of all ages, upwards of three, as it is ability-based.

This series of structured workbooks, developing the written and spoken word simultaneously, are designed to build a solid foundation in the basics of English and though mainly used for native speakers, can also be used by someone who is learning English as a second language.

The series currently contains the following:

Phonics 1 & 2

Reading 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6

These books are designed for complete beginners who have mastered the alphabet and are ready to be introduced to full words. These books are designed to be used in conjunction with one another with the result that the child can read full and semi-complex sentences unaided.

Grammar 1 & 2

Comprehension 1 & 2

These books are designed for children who have mastered the basics of the written and spoken word and wish to elevate their learning to the next level. These books will teach children how to understand basic text and respond in an appropriate and correct manner.

English Workbook 1, 2 & 3

Junior English 1, 2 & 3

These workbooks introduce children to new themes of vocabulary and teach children to identify key points in a story. Children also learn to draw from their own experiences in their work and develop slightly more advanced comprehension and writing skills.

These books help students develop and consolidate their grammar skills, teaching them how grammar should be used within basic and advanced sentences and guiding students through more specialised themes and introducing more advanced sentence structures.

This trio of books is aimed at the more advanced student who is able to communicate fluently in the written format. They will instruct students as to the varying tones, styles and audiences to which they must adjust in their writing. This is an essential skill that students must grasp in order to produce high quality work for coursework and public exams.
